We began working with SEATS last year to deliver our leadership and management apprenticeships. SEATS were able to quality assure apprenticeship providers for us, as well as join us up with other local employers to create viable cohorts which has taken a lot of the stress out of the process.

Southend Theatres worked with SEATS to find a Commis Chef Apprenticeship programme for a member of our Kitchen Hospitality Team at the Cliffs Pavilion. SEATS provided expert knowledge and guidance to ensure we found the best provider to support our apprentice. We look forward to working with SEATS again as we expand our apprenticeship offer.

I chose this apprenticeship because lifelong learning is so important as an adult. Management skills are fundamental to success and while I’ve been a manager in previous roles and organisations, I haven’t yet had that opportunity with my current employer. This course is helping me build the skills, knowledge and methodologies I need to become a truly effective manager - and bring that aspiration to life.

I heard about this training from our Thames Freeport partners, SEATS. I felt the training was relevant to my job and allowed me to meet new people. I learnt a lot about AI and new strategies.

I have had a very positive experience with Sam from SEATS. My learning and development team initially suggested I look into ILM level 6, however, on further exploration with Sam it transpired that level 7 was actually more suitable. The only issue preventing this was lack of evidence of my GCSE’s in Maths and English as I am a mature student and wasn’t able to trace my results officially. But Sam didn’t give up, as he informed me of all the possible options available to work things out. But he eventually got back to me to explain there had been a change in the process which allowed mature students to be assessed differently, on a case-by-case basis without the necessary GCSE’s. This opened the door for me, and I have successfully now enrolled on the course and can’t wait to start. Thanks for all your assistance and guidance through the process Sam. Much appreciated 😊

I could see the value in coming along to this training. I like to think I'm tech savvy but the automations and general help with workflow and productivity are my biggest takeaways and learnings from today.

What excited me about the management course is the opportunity to truly understand what makes people tick. Time management has always been a challenge for me, so I saw this course as a way to not only improve my skills but also enhance my efficiency at work and in my personal life. Beyond that, it’s about learning how to motivate, manage, and lead—not just colleagues but also friends and family when they face challenges. That’s what inspired me to take this step.

I have really benefitted from the knowledge I’m learning and the break away from the workplace. It’s fantastic for networking and meeting new people outside of your usual workplace. It's important to take the time to upskill outside of our day-to-day roles.  

I attended as I wanted to expand my understanding of logistics in ports when it comes to the environment and also to have the opportunity to talk to other departments that I might not usually speak with.

We had fantastic discussions about the challenges and great successes the port has had around implementing its Net Zero targets.

I was interested in attending as Thurrock Council work closely with the Port of Tilbury. 

The content was interesting with deep information about the future of logistics and greening on the industry.

The fringe benefits were even more valuable to me. I have a better insight into the plans of the port and constraints of the port regarding energy production.
