SEATS exceeds every target in 2024/25

SEATS exceeds every target in 2024/25 — delivering record impact across Essex and East Anglia

At SEATS, we believe that when employers lead, everyone benefits. Over the past year, that belief has been proven again and again as we’ve surpassed every target set by our stakeholders and strengthened our regional impact.

In the last 12 months, SEATS has achieved exceptional outcomes across all areas of our work:

  • Apprenticeship placements: 263% of target
  • Training and upskilling: 334% of target
  • Retention rate: Maintained at 93%, significantly above the national average (around 77%, Institute for Student Employers 2023/24, latest published figures)

These results reflect the success of our employer-led brokerage model, which connects businesses with high-quality training and apprenticeship opportunities across Essex, East Anglia and the London Boroughs of Havering and Barking & Dagenham.

Our approach ensures that:

  • Employers access the skilled workforce they need.
  • Learners gain meaningful, sustainable career pathways.
  • The region benefits from a stronger, more resilient economy.

We’re proud to be supported by a small but dedicated team — three permanent staff and two specialist consultants — alongside an employer-led board representing Ford, London Southend Airport and DP World, all key stakeholders through Thames Freeport.

Our reputation continues to grow rapidly, with a 280% increase in social media followers and new partnership approaches from universities, colleges and training providers who value our collaborative, employer-driven model.

Word-of-mouth referrals and repeat business are now our strongest sources of growth - a true reflection of the trust and results we deliver.

A people-first approach to apprenticeship success
What makes SEATS stand out is our wraparound support for the learner, the employer and the training provider. We check in regularly and step in proactively at key “pinch points” in the learner journey to ensure every apprenticeship stays on track.

That’s how we’ve sustained our 93% retention rate - proving that when you invest in people and relationships, the results follow naturally.

Looking ahead
As we move into the next year, SEATS remains focused on helping organisations of all sizes access fully funded, high-quality workforce development. Together, we’re building stronger teams, more confident learners and a thriving local economy.
