Description
9 February 2027
Half-day, in person at The Hive, London Gateway
Managing performance is one of the most important parts of being a leader – but it can also be one of the most challenging.
How do you set clear expectations without micromanaging? How do you keep people focused and motivated? And what do you do when performance isn’t where it needs to be?
Leading for Performance is a practical half-day workshop designed to help managers lead performance with greater clarity, consistency and confidence.
The session focuses on the everyday conversations, behaviours and leadership habits that help people understand what is expected of them, take ownership and perform at their best.
What the session will cover
During the workshop, participants will explore how to:
- set clear and realistic expectations
- translate organisational priorities into meaningful individual and team objectives
- create clarity around what good performance looks like
- hold effective performance conversations
- give constructive, useful feedback
- recognise and reinforce good performance
- address performance concerns early rather than allowing them to escalate
- balance support with accountability
- help individuals take greater ownership of their performance
- develop practical actions to use back in the workplace
Who is this session for?
This workshop is ideal for team leaders, supervisors, managers and emerging leaders who are responsible for managing people and delivering results.
It will also benefit experienced managers who want to strengthen their approach to performance management and have more confident, productive conversations with their teams.
Move from managing tasks to leading performance
Good performance management shouldn’t only happen during an annual appraisal or when something has gone wrong.
The strongest leaders make performance part of everyday management – creating clarity, checking progress, giving feedback, recognising success and addressing issues when they first appear.
This session will give participants practical approaches they can use to make those conversations easier and more effective.
The aim is for managers to leave feeling better equipped to set expectations, support their people and create genuine accountability for results.
