Building a High-Performance Culture

Description

9 November 2027

Half-day, in person at The Hive, London Gateway

High performance isn’t created by one initiative, one conversation or one manager.

It is built through the behaviours, expectations, decisions and habits that happen every day.

Building a High-Performance Culture is the final workshop in the Practical Leadership Series and brings the learning together, helping managers think beyond individual performance and consider the culture they are creating within their teams.

This practical half-day session explores how leaders can create an environment where high standards, accountability, trust, continuous improvement and strong performance become simply “how we do things here”.

What the session will cover

During the workshop, participants will explore how to:

  • understand what a high-performance culture really looks like
  • recognise the connection between leadership behaviour and workplace culture
  • establish clear expectations and consistently reinforce them
  • create an environment of trust, ownership and accountability
  • encourage open communication and constructive challenge
  • recognise and reinforce the behaviours that support strong performance
  • address behaviours that undermine the team or its performance
  • maintain high standards without creating an unhealthy pressure culture
  • create space for learning, improvement and new ideas
  • build greater resilience and adaptability within the team
  • understand how everyday leadership decisions shape culture over time
  • identify the leadership habits they want to continue beyond the programme

Who is this session for?

This workshop is ideal for team leaders, supervisors, managers and emerging leaders who want to create an environment where people can consistently perform at their best.

It is particularly valuable for managers responsible for teams going through growth, transformation or change, or organisations looking to strengthen leadership capability and create greater consistency across their management culture.

Culture is what happens every day

Culture isn’t a statement on a wall.

It is what happens when a deadline is missed. How a manager responds when somebody makes a mistake. Whether poor behaviour is challenged. Whether good performance is recognised. Whether people feel able to speak up. And whether commitments are actually followed through.

Leaders influence these moments every day – sometimes without even realising it.

This session helps managers become more intentional about the culture they create through the way they communicate, behave, make decisions and lead their people.

Bringing the Practical Leadership Series together

Throughout 2027, the Practical Leadership Series has explored performance, productivity, team effectiveness, improvement, accountability and operational leadership.

Module 10 brings those elements together.

Participants will be encouraged to reflect on what they have learned, what they have changed and the leadership behaviours they need to continue developing.

The goal isn’t perfection.

It’s creating leaders who consistently model the standards, behaviours and expectations they want to see from others.
