On Friday, Launchpad Southend played host to an engaging and uplifting Learning at Work Week event, organised by SEATS, celebrating the impact of learning and apprenticeships on individuals and businesses alike.

Held in the vibrant and welcoming surroundings of Launchpad – a fantastic venue – the event brought together employers, apprentices, and partners to explore the value of vocational learning pathways and showcase success stories from across the region.

The programme featured a range of speakers, each offering unique insights:

  • Simon from Exemplia Learning opened the event with a thought-provoking presentation on learning across the ages, illustrating how education continues to evolve and remain relevant at every stage of life.

  • Lauren Project Manager with Design Spec Ltd. a standout speaker and former apprentice, shared her inspirational journey in the construction industry. Her story, as a woman thriving in a traditionally male-dominated sector, was a powerful testament to the opportunities apprenticeships can provide.

  • Leah from accountancy training specialists First Intuition, delivered an insightful talk on the business benefits of apprenticeships, encouraging employers to invest in new talent and build sustainable futures.

  • Finally, our very own Sam brought everything together with a compelling overview of the added value SEATS offers, highlighting the wraparound support available to both learners and businesses.

Attendees enjoyed not only the valuable presentations and discussions but also the opportunity to connect with peers during the networking session – all accompanied by a delicious lunch.

The LAW event was a true celebration of learning, success and opportunity. It demonstrated the essential role apprenticeships play in empowering individuals and supporting business growth, while reinforcing SEATS’ commitment to creating meaningful, supported learning journeys.
