Description
11 May 2027
Half-day, in person at The Hive, London Gateway
Accountability is essential for high-performing teams – but it doesn’t mean constantly checking up on people or stepping in to solve every problem.
Done well, accountability creates clarity, ownership and trust. People understand what is expected, take responsibility for delivering it and know they will be supported – and challenged – when needed.
Leading Accountability & Performance is a practical half-day workshop designed to help managers create greater ownership within their teams while maintaining clear expectations around performance.
What the session will cover
During the workshop, participants will explore how to:
- create clear expectations around responsibilities, standards and outcomes
- understand the difference between accountability and micromanagement
- establish genuine ownership within a team
- delegate effectively without losing visibility or control
- agree clear actions and follow through on commitments
- recognise when a lack of clarity is contributing to poor performance
- hold people to account confidently and constructively
- tackle missed deadlines or commitments before they become recurring issues
- balance support, trust and challenge
- build a team culture where people take responsibility for results
Who is this session for?
This workshop is ideal for team leaders, supervisors, managers and emerging leaders who need to achieve results through others.
It is particularly valuable for managers who find themselves chasing actions, repeatedly reminding people, stepping in to fix problems or carrying responsibilities that should sit elsewhere in the team.
Stop carrying the whole team
One of the easiest traps for a manager to fall into is becoming the person who holds everything together.
They chase the deadlines. They remind people what needs doing. They solve the problems. And when something isn’t delivered, they step in and do it themselves.
It might get the job done today – but it doesn’t build accountability for tomorrow.
Effective leadership means creating an environment where people understand what they own, have the confidence to deliver it and take responsibility for the outcome.
This session will help managers move away from “I’ll sort it” towards “you own it – and I’ll support you to succeed.”
